The proposed panel for the Savary Island Project will depict this magical event that rests at the bottom of human consciousness. The panel of “Raven brings the Light” will celebrate the turn of the sun and the moon around the earth.
Panel Description
The panel will feature a Sun Mask and the Raven with details that depict the events in the legend. The Panel will be carved out of wind dried red cedar and will feature the deep sculptural style of Northwest Coast Art. Victor Reece’s work is contemporary in style but is strongly rooted in traditional forms. The dimensions are 2.1’ X 5.5’ by 3” thick.
